8UP is a brand new sample library company. They reached out to begin the process of developing both an overall brand aesthetic as well as final assets for the launch of their first run of sample libraries.
The result is a colorful mix of nostalgic idiosyncracies with a modern sheen.
Pixel Art Library Covers
Each sample pack needed a unique cover that made clear the contents while retaining a cohesive brand look.
Covers began with hand made pixel art that was transformed into an energetic, 3d voxel, game cartridge sleeve.
More covers to come as sample packs are released.

8UP’s key art required a mix of many techniques including illustration, 3D modeling, and compositing.
Logo design began with 8-bit and 16-bit renderings of the logo characters. After finding our 8, the remaining elements were explored to further push the feeling of the late 80’s and early 90’s. A rainbow motif common for the era was the touch needed to bring it all together.
